Creatine is one of the most researched supplements in the world — but the dosing advice online is needlessly confusing. For women, it’s actually very simple. Here’s exactly how much to take and when.
The daily dose
For most women, 3–5 grams per day is the effective, evidence-based dose — roughly one level scoop. You take it every day, including rest days, because the goal is to keep your muscles fully saturated over time.
One scoop of Simple Creatine gives you a clean 5g of creatine monohydrate with nothing else added.
Do you need to ‘load’?
Loading means taking ~20g a day (split into 4 doses) for the first week to saturate your muscles faster. It works, but it isn’t necessary — and it can cause stomach discomfort in some people.
Skipping the load and simply taking 3–5g daily reaches the same saturation in about three to four weeks. For most women, the steady approach is gentler and just as effective.
When should you take it?
Timing matters far less than consistency. Morning, pre-workout or post-workout all work — pick whichever helps you remember. Many women stir it into their morning coffee or protein shake.
